According to the announcement, Beam QR codes can be used for anything from token sales and certificates of authenticity to giveaways and blockchain-based loot boxes. The actual codes can be placed in locations similar to any other QR code, including websites, apps and flyers.
In addition to ERC-standard tokens, Beam functions across multiple blockchains and can be used to received payments of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC). Beam also includes an integrated SMS verification system for improved fairness and security.
To celebrate the launch of Beam, Enjin is conducting a giveaway of 3,674 items backed by a total of 146,350 ENJ. These items include “Frozen Enjin,” digital ice cubes that can be melted down for up to 1,000 ENJ, in addition to Enjin Multiverse gaming items, some of which can be used across 9 different games.
This news comes several weeks after Enjin launched “Mintshop,” a new blockchain item creation service that allows users to rapidly create custom assets via a simple online store. Beam is designed to be a natural extension to Mintshop, allowing users to easily distribute their tokens or game items via the QR system.
