According to the announcement, users who own at least one Axie, the game’s main unit, will be able to participate in a scavenger hunt in Genesis City on the Decentraland platform to discover a number of hidden units that can be subsequently swapped for tokenized rewards.
Axie Infinity is a collectibles game that allows users to breed, earn and trade Axies that are represented on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. These units feature different strengths and weaknesses based on four major stats: including HP, speed, skill and morale.
The game features a battle system that allows players to earn tokenized trophies and ETH rewards, in addition to a P2P marketplace that drives the game’s internal economy. So far, there have been over 74,000 battles, with more than 9,900 different Axies currently owned by players.
As for Decentraland, the VR platform’s LAND parcels, which are non-fungible digital assets maintained in an Ethereum smart contract, can be used for anything from online businesses to games and resorts. Users can access the 3D world with a VR headset or simply via a web browser.
Axie Infinity is the second major blockchain game to announce participation on the Decentraland platform in recent weeks. MANA is up over 16% on the day to $0.924, giving the project a $97.8 million market cap.
